With Fathers Day approaching I was asked if there was anything I wanted. Its not often that I ask for anything. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy toys and gadgets as much as the next guy, but I am truly happy for my health and the health of my wife and three kids.
We must all want something for father’s day, right? OK, after a little thought, I was able to come up with five small requests that I would happily accept for fathers day this year…

There’s nothing more annoying than when an idiot runs on a field while you are enjoying a baseball game. The networks don’t show it , so its another commercial for television viewers. If you are lucky enough to see the game live, its funny for a minute. Then the guy (yes it’s always a guy) seems to easily evade the 30 overweight security guards trying to catch him. Every once and a while there will be a skinny fast guy that gets tacked by an ex-football player, but that’s rare. Most of the time its just watching the dummy give unless he happens to get tasered by a cop who’s packing some electricity. (As we saw this week in Philly)
I have a much better solution that’s a win for viewers, advertisers, charities, and a big win for one lucky fan.

Its an interesting argument: Would you take a cell plan that sent you ads if it the plan was free or deeply discounted?
I recently read this article in PC Magazine: Cheaper Cell Service — For the Price of Eyeballs
Just like traditional marketing practices in print media where newspapers and magazines can afford to sell copies inexpensively, the same manner is expected to happen in the telco industry space once it does digital marketing — the modern advertising technique via the Internet and mobile phone devices. I was about to chomp my stapler down on the paperwork for a job I just finished… and BAM! No staples. My immediate response was “damn it!”.
Why do we get so mad when the stapler is out of staples? I have a whole box of 5000 more in my desk drawer. Its not like I wont get those sheets to be bound by metal in the next 40 seconds.
