Memorial day has come and gone. This 3-day weekend is the official-unofficial start of summer in New England. The city of Boston is one of my favorite places to visit in the summertime. We make a point to get the kids out to the Boston Aquarium and Children Museum at least once on a nice warm day. There is so much to do and see on an extended sunny day. One of my friends on twitter recently posted that his computer crashed and he lost all of his digital images. Everything gone. Sometimes it takes someone else’s problem to safeguard you from your own. I was sure to take an account of my own backup procedures and put together a short list of easy ways to secure your own digital images from being lost forever.
I just finished creating a new kids photo album as a birthday present for my Mother. I cant wait for her to see this, she is going to absolutely love it. I wanted to find a gift other than the annual plant or cheesy present from the Christmas Tree shop. I wanted something more personal, something that she wont expect. She is the mother of two and the grandmother of three. A photobook containing all those “kids” is sure to make her (birth)day.

I recently came across this new service for photo backup, storage, and galleries called Phanfare.com. I currently use both Smugmug.com and Flickr, and will continue to do so. However, if you are looking for a new service, these guys are worth a look (or even a free trial).
