Wicked Good Week September 11

Welcome to Friday and another edition of my Wicked Good Week.

A personal highlight for me this week was finding out I was a finalist in BitRebels.com “New Writer” Contest. I am thrilled and honored at the opportunity to be a part of an awesome site put together by my friend Richard Darell. The article is featured below. Richard was on the dock to get a plug this week, but I am going to bump him so it does not taint my chances of getting the gig.

It just so happens that this week’s Wicked Good edition lands on a date I think we will all agree has some significance, September 11. Many of us know exactly where we were when we heard the news. All we could do was sit in front of the television and watch with one eye open, as they showed this unreal image reply over and over. A terrible time in our history.  I thought I would at least acknowledge the date.

@ASacco is an old buddy of mine. We played some puck back in the day. Al is a funny dude and a straight shooter (unlike his slap shots) so only follow him if you are not easily offended. I almost forgot to mention… Al Sacco writes about mobile and wireless technology for a publication called CIO. Check out his blog Mobile WorkHorse and follow MobileWorkHorse for updates on mobile technology, smartphones, and BlackBerry. By the way Al, i had to get a new BlackBerry Curve since you could not make the iPhone/Verizon deal work out.

@mayhemstudios aka Calvin Lee. Talk about the Hulk of social media! This guy once RT’d one of my blog posts and I thought my server was going to go down after the meyhem-effect of traffic and ReTweets.  Calvin is a real dude and a leader in the trends we are currently seeing in Social media. He is also some sort of designer from what I hear out there in Cali. I also hear he is a really nice guy. I am still waiting for Chris Brogan to confirm that.

@bitrebels is the killingest Design, Geek and Tech blog out there! This site was created by Richard Darell (Minervity) and has just taken off since its launch. The site posts great reads in design, technology, gaming, and everything else geek. As I mentioned above they are currently hosting a contest looking for a new writer for the site. Follow them so you can look out for the articles from all the contestants (as well as all the other great posts).
